3 Ways to Know If Your Roof Needs to Be Repaired
Jan 21, 2014
Does your roof need to be repaired or replaced? Here are three easy ways to tell if your roof may have a problem:
1) Water Marks
Any sign of water marks inside or outside your home can easily indicate that there may be a leak. A top tip is also to periodically inspect attic spaces. Attic spaces commonly will show signs for leaks such as water marks on wood sheathing, walls, beams and other areas inside the attic.
2) Oddities on the Roof
If your roof does not look right -- from raised shingles, missing shingles or more, this could be a sign that your roof needs to be repaired or replaced. Curled edges of shingles or the widening space between the shingles or in the slots of the shingles, including discolorations could be a sign of damage also.
If your gutters have small granules in the downspout exit area, this could be an instant sign that your roof is damaged. This may also indicate a manufacturers defect or storm damage.
If you notice any of the signs listed above, or have other roofing concerns, do not hesitate to contact H & S Roofing and Gutters. A small problem can easily escalate into a large roofing problem, and can also cause severe damage to your home.
